Fortunately for me, Andrew and Brendan play summer baseball as well. For the past eight weeks, they have had one game a week for their Coach Pitch team called Pizza Hut. Chris was an assistance coach as well, and he became the official pitcher at about mid-season. Last night was the final game of the season.
Andrew did an awesome job of playing third baseman. They typically rotate positions so that each child gets a chance to play each position. Chris and I were both impressed with him. Brendan also did a nice job playing. Both boys had excellent hits. Here are some photos from the evening.
This was Brendan standing on first base after a solid hit.
I think this hit went to the outfield!
Even though no score is officially kept, the boys assured me that they won last evening. The teams were fairly evenly matched, and I do believe they are correct. Since it was the final game of the season, we immediately celebrated with a pizza party. Of course, they had Pizza Hut pizza for the party.
(Brendan is on the far left of this picture. Andrew is the one behind the kids with the Doritos.)
It was a great season.

Why do I feel like baseball season was much longer when we were kids? I wish you all lived closer so I could come watch a game. Maybe this winter I'll be able to come up and see a basketball game...
