Saturday began with Chris and Andrew leaving to play in a Father-Son golf tournament. (They did well-- They finished 6th or 7th our of about 13 teams.) Brendan decided that if Andrew was golfing, he should be too, so Brendan, Evan, mom and I went to the little Par 3 in Waunakee and played 9 holes. I can attest with utter conviction that Brendan was by far the best player in our foursome. I do think Evan came in a close second with mom and I trailing distantly! It was such a peaceful morning. I even commented to mom at one point that it was great to just be walking and talking with the boys like that.
After golf, we had a little lunch and the boys wanted to head to the park. We perched grandma back on her bike, which she was getting more accustomed to, and took off. The boys played at the park for an hour or so, then coerced us into yet another day of bowling. We rode our bikes back home and got ready to journey back to Vitense Golfland.
A PGA teaching professional was offering a golf clinic that we thought the boys may be interested in. Unfortunately, the man used such specific language that it was way over their heads. Ultimately, they just wanted to putt and practice hitting balls, which is what we did.
Sunday was a little less crazy. We went to church in the morning, then journeyed to Waunakee to watch the Waunafest parade. It was a beautiful day for a parade, but we didn't know that the parade would last nearly two hours!!! It got HOT and the boys were antsy. Here is a picture from the parade. If you look closely, you can see me taking the picture in the firetruck and mom sitting next to me!
After the parade, we came home and hung out for the evening. Brendan and Evan became immersed in a marble game. Here are two pictures from that. The picture of Brendan shows him jumping in excitement watching his marbles fall.

Today Grandma left. On the way to the airport, the boys continued to squeeze every moment they could from grandma by making her try to finish the book she had been reading to them, Soup and Me. I think even grandma was disappointed that she didn't quite finish it. The morning finished with a few eyes brimming with tears, but we are grateful to have had her here for so long. Now, I need to rest!

So I can't get the picture to blow up on my screen... usually you can just click them to appear bigger in a new window. I want to see that perfectly timed picture moment!
